It's not "milking it" to talk about our deceased loved ones for longer than makes others comfortable. I will always grieve for Molly because I will always love her. The dead should be part of life.
I haven't even listened to today's podcast yet, but how dare anyone suggest you are "milking it" for talking about your deceased loved one because it makes others "uncomfortable." Talk about it all day every day if you feel like it, and I hope those who feel uncomfortable never have to endure your reality.
Love this episode! Yes and Yes. Yes, that New Yorker cartoon is the most offensive thing I have heard of, and yes please keep the podcast raw and real!
Don’t change a thing about your podcast, Kaye, except for learning the tech to allow for guests. I love your podcast just the way it is - authentic and real.
You are spot on and I truly agree with all of your points. You inspire me. I hope to get to a more positive place in this life after losing my only child. Who, btw, would be so hurt and horrified with our current government.
You are so correct. Continue to say your daughter's name each chance to have. Every time I say or write Evan, my heart beats a little stronger. Only for a few seconds, but our loved ones lived! They deserve and we deserve that acknowledgement. I once read "Nature abhors a vacuum". This woman gave birth to a still born child and immediately wanted to get pregnant again to replace the emptiness. Now I get it 100%. 🫂
I can’t bring myself to refer to the cartoon as a joke, not even a bad joke; it’s too offensive. I applaud you for calling out the author & the New Yorker! Having professional editors didn’t serve the magazine well; another reason that your self-described imperfect podcast is excellent as it is…authentic and refreshing! As you were speaking, I thought back to your previous podcast about your trip to Mexico, wondering what it will take for our society to embrace the dead as part of the living. You and Molly, among others who’ve lost children, are forging the path to change, that much I know. Keep doing exactly what you’re doing Kaye!
I’ll never understand the relentless assault on Jews. I’ve read many books about the WWII era and the hatred of Jews; we’ve been here before in this country as you know and haven’t learned from history. I often wonder where is the outrage and protests about what Russia is doing to Ukraine. Is it because the Jewish population is much lower there? I’m so sick of the antisemitism and so sorry for my Jewish friends and all Jews.
I share your deep concern and anger regarding DT, his party and the extreme left liberals. Like you said, it’s not like they didn’t tell us.

Keep this podcast going; it's great.
I like that you don't edit. Your format is amazing
You have a gift for communication - no editing needed. I feel like I am listening to a friend.

Thank you, Lesli! That cartoon definitely made the rounds amongst the bereaved parents community. Such a terrible message, even as a “joke.”
